How interesting: Following his win in the Republican primary in Wisconsin, Sen. John McCain took a potshot at Barack Obama — without naming him — making the contrast between his own national-security experience and “an eloquent but empty call for change.” You can read the report I read about it here.
What does this mean, really, as far as Obama’s candidacy? Absolutely nothing at this point. I seriously doubt McCain’s comments will persuade the Democratic Party faithful to vote either for or against Obama or Clinton. It may, however, work a bit in McCain’s favor if Obama wins the nomination. It means McCain’s getting an early start on a theme he may choose to use in the general election.
I found it interesting as one more nail in Hillary Clinton’s candidacy coffin: Her continued string of primary and caucus losses should begin to persuade her and others that the Democratic Party is moving to Obama and away from Clinton(s).
Please, Hillary, get a clue and find a way to gracefully “suspend” your candidacy in favor of Obama when the time is right.
