If obesity is a problem for you, check the JourneyLite website for one option
I have had a serious weight problem all my life. Fortunately, if I get on the ball and keep my calories down and get off my recliner to walk or do other exercise regularly, I'm able to control it -- somewhat. But many of the people reading this have struggled with lifetime obesity and really want more help.
To close out the year, I offer you one more "Useful Website," and this one is related to serious medical help for serious obesity -- "JourneyLite for Life," a website wich will give you a great deal of information and guidance about LAP-BAND System surgery. According to their website, they "offer a comprehensive weight-loss surgery program that will guide you through every step of your journey -- from evaluating whether the LAP-BAND System is right for you, to finding an experienced surgeon, to insurance approval, and extensive follow-up and aftercare that is specifically tailored with your success in mind.
This surgery is NOT stomach stapling or stomach or intestinal removal, which you may hear about from time to time in the news, and which would seem very scary to me. No, the LAP-BAND System involves a tiny abdominal incision and the insertion of a "silastic band" which restricts the opening into the stomach. The website explains it in some detail and even offers a video demonstration. The procedure is completely adjustable and completely reversible, which makes it something you might want to consider if you are plagued with obesity and feel the need to try this medical treatment.
JourneyLite has centers in California, in Texas, and a Tampa weight loss treatment facility in Florida.
If obesity is a problem for you, I encourage you to go to the JourneyLite website and get all the information you can. It's worth your visit.
