Huckabee seems to be still looking for that political miracle

Earlier in this 2008 presidential campaign, I predicted that former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee might pull off a big upset and win the GOP nomination.

Of course I was wrong. I still think he’d make a good choice for McCain to pick as a running mate, if Huckabee would take the offer — and I think he probably would.

But if Huckabee’s continued optimism and statements like “anything can happen in an election” really mean anything to him, they must mean he truly may be seeking angel investors, i.e., REAL angels watching over and guiding his campaign to a miraculous finish.

One thing you can be sure of concerning miracles, though, is this: They aren’t called “miracles” because we can cause them to happen or wish them into existence. And it doesn’t look to me like God’s plan for Brother Mike is the presidency at this time.

Ah, well, what do I know? I’m just a guy who reads the papers, not somebody who’s an authority on God or miracles.
