Here’s a useful website for credit and identity protection — with an odd story, too
If you read my last post, you understand that I'm a bit angry right now over the way corporations feel they can get away with pretty much anything and treat the "little people" of the world -- probably most of us, that is -- pretty much any way they want. And, unfortunately, they're often right. I'm reminded of that rallying cry in the classic 1970s movie, which seems very appropriate for our times: "I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore!"
And now (it must be that kind of day), I just read an article where one of the world's major credit reporting organization is filing suit against LifeLock, a credit alert/identity guardian company, because the credit reporting company complains that LifeLock is placing so many credit alerts for their customers that it's costing the credit reporting company too much time and money to process them.
Well, excuse me, but with credit crises and identity theft cases constantly rising, don't you think SOMEBODY should be able to call the credit reporting people to toe the line and do their job?? Who are the "bad guys" here anyway, companies like LifeLock that offer legitimate credit and identity protection to those who know up front what they charge and are willing to pay it? Or, are the "bad guys" (if there really are any bad guys at all) the mega-huge credit reporting agencies which don't want to be bothered by the expense and work of doing what they're required to do??
I recommend you go to the LifeLock website and look around. They offer a good service that you may want to take advantage of. If nothing else, maybe you can explain to me why in the world the credit reporting company would be suing these guys?? I just don't get it.
Ah, well, what do I know. I'm just a guy who reads the papers -- and who's reluctant to actually name the credit reporting company involved. LOL!
