Democrats in Senate just plain wrong on Sen. Roland Burris

I truly believe the Democrats in the Senate are just plain wrong on refusing to seat Sen. Roland Burris, the newly appointed junior Senator from Illinois.

Hello in there, Sen. Reid and others — if there’s a “bad guy” to be convicted in the Illinois political scandals it’s Democratic Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, NOT Sen. Roland Burris.

I’m sure Blagojevich was intentionally clever when he went ahead and named Burris to replace President-Elect Barack Obama, knowing it would stir things up and perhaps shift attention away from the certainly “shifty” actions he’s being investigated for. Regardless of Blagojevich’s motives or actions, the fact is Burris should NOT be somehow “tainted” or “blamed” for Blagojevich’s actions.

Is there anything shady or any accusations whatsoever floating around about Burris? No. Has the man been shown morally or ethically reprobate? No, of course not.

If the Democrats in the Senate are so senseless that they refuse to seat Burris, it proves to me that all the accusatory rhetoric about a “do nothing” Congress since the 2006 elections surely does have truth to it.

Argh! Politics!!!!

  1. Really says:

What with socializing medicine, corporate taxing schemes to pay for hiring more government workers, bailouts to every niche they can find – including the recent wall street 50 billion dollar ponzi scheme if I am reading it corectly, generating earmarks for the trillion dollar tryst Obama is pushing on us within a week of his coronation, how will the dems ever find the time to investigate this Senator properly?

Frankly, if they want to investigate a Senator that may or may not have made a shady deal to win an election, that would probably cut out most of the folks working in elected positions in Washington. They might want to be careful what questions they ask, they certainly would not want to embarrass themselves.
